June Wrap-Up

Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine
Rating -
This is the first book of The Great Library series. You can see a more in depth review here. Review But the basic idea I think what it comes down to in this alternate world is e-books vs. physical books.

Destroy Me by Tahereh Mafi
Rating -
This is a short story and is in between book one and two, it is also told from Warner's point of view. Ok I admit I hate Warner after the first book and didn't think he was redeemable at all and would never be in my eyes. We do get to see things from his point of view and I can see what he is thinking and what not but now even after this one I wasn't convinced why everyone was all ooooo Warner.

Angelfall by Susan Ee

This is the first book in the Penryn and the End of Days trilogy. I loved this book and couldn't believe how long I took to finally get to this series! I have the second book and can't wait to continue on with the series. If you would like to read a longer review here it is. Review

Mercy Thompson: Hopcross Jilly by Patricia Briggs
Rating -
This is a graphic novel and is a short story in between books seven and eight. I have been keeping up with the Mercy Thompson series and when I saw this on NetGalley I had to read it and see how the characters were depicted and drawn. I have one of the  other Graphic novels from this series but have not picked it up yet, I will have to soon because I just need some more of this series while waiting for the next book. A longer review is here. Review

Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi
Rating -
This is the second book in the Shatter Me trilogy. As I stated above I wasn't really feeling the Warner love but neither was I feeling the Adam love anymore. He just got annoying and her along with him. Warner did redeem himself a little bit especially toward the end. So I think I can see why everyone is so in love with him. I mean yea I get it you have a deathly touch and oh poor me I have no one to love or touch me but come on get up in do something about it. Which finally she does at the end of the book so I am really excited to read the next and final book and hopefully she is more kick ass.
Survive the Night by Danielle Vega
Rating -
This is a standalone novel. I wrote a longer review here if you would like to check it out. Review But basically this is the myth about the alligator in the sewer mixed with some sort of sea monster on steroids. Very entertaining and did keep me intrigued and questioning things to the end but not the best ending since I was as a whole looking for a different kind of ending one that maybe didn't have a sea monster but still good.

Cold Burn of Magic by Jennifer Estep
Rating -
This is the first book in the series Black Blade.  Now I had to read this because I am just getting into her Spider assassin series and I thought since she is starting a new series I would start that one as well. I mean I was enjoying the other one I think I would like this one as well and I was right I did enjoy it. It did have a lot of similarities with her other series but it still was intriguing lots of mystery through out. I  longer review is here. Review
Forever by Maggie Stiefvater
Rating -
This is the third and final book of the The Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy though there is a spin off of a fourth book that I most likely will read some time soon. Finally I am done with this trilogy!!! Oh wait now I still have the fourth spin-off book. To me this last book did not feel like a last book should feel. Nothing was solved other than they moved the wolves to safety whoopie! That is why I think the fourth book was put in and hopefully will have a more satisfying ending. Its also not in a Grace and Sam point of view so I hear so I am happy about that. Their happy sadness was just to depressing to read about some times.

Panic by Lauren Oliver
Rating -
This is a standalone novel.  This is not the usual book I typically read obviously, I usually stay away from contemporary unless if it hooks me in, and this one did just that. I liked the idea of people playing a game at the end of the year as a senior to win all this money and be able  to get out of the small town and do whatever they want. This book teaches you that money is only half of the problem most of the time. Yea more money can get you far but you can only go so far with your problems still following you. One can be a whole lot happier in a small no place like where they lived if they just work on themselves. I like the thought of the game also kind of facing your fears. Now in days many people have way to many fears that stop them from living life or doing things in general we need to surpass that and learn to over come our fears.

Update:
I am back, sorry it took so long for me to get situated enough to get back in the groove of things. I am still not all there but at least I have the job thingy settled so that will give me more time to get things done. I hope to also start making youtube videos again but that might have to be put off for another month or two since I am still not all the way unpacked. There are just too many things to do and not enough free time to do them. I feel like I am so behind on so many things but I think I am doing okay regardless of having lots of stuff thrown at me. Oh the joys of moving!

I am also sorry that I have only been writing reviews on here that is all I have had time for lately but like I said I am hoping to get back into the normal groove of things so you will be seeing more fun things along with the reviews. I hope everyone had a great fourth of July if you celebrate. If not I hope you had a great day regardless. I know I did, didn't get to go swimming like I wanted but played tennis instead which I haven't done in years due to lack of out door courts. I love getting to do stuff outside now since it is so nice and hot outside. I plan to get my book all in order hopefully by the end of this month and possibly go through some more boxes but we will see.

Hope everyone is having a good time!
